42 Degrees South Tasmania Pinot Grigio 2025 - 12 Bottles

Winery Background

42 Degrees South, part of the Frogmore Creek family, showcases Tasmania’s premium cool-climate wines. The Coal River Valley, with its long daylight hours, cool breezes, and pristine environment, produces Pinot Grigio of remarkable purity and aromatic finesse.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage was shaped by a mild, consistent growing season, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. Cool nights preserved the natural acidity, while warm, sunny days developed concentrated varietal character. Low yields resulted in exceptional flavour intensity.

Winemaking Process

Grapes were harvested in the cool of early morning to maintain freshness. Gentle pressing and cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserved the vibrant aromatics and crisp texture. The wine was kept on fine lees for a short period to enhance mid-palate weight and complexity before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw with subtle green hues. Aromas of pear, crisp apple, and white florals mingle with hints of citrus zest. The palate is fresh and vibrant, delivering flavours of nashi pear, lemon, and a touch of almond, supported by bright acidity and a clean, dry finish.

Food Pairing

Perfect with seafood dishes such as grilled calamari, fresh oysters, or prawn linguine. Also pairs well with light salads, creamy pasta, and soft goat cheese.

Story Behind the Wine

This Pinot Grigio captures the essence of Tasmania’s Coal River Valley — fresh, aromatic, and elegantly textured. The 2024 vintage reflects the region’s pristine environment, producing a wine that’s as refreshing as the southern Tasmanian breeze.
