Head Red Barossa Valley GSM 2022 - 12 Bottles
WINERY INFORMATION
Founded by Alex Head in 2006, HEAD Wines focuses on Rhne varietals sourced from the famous Barossa and Eden Valley, South Australia. In a short time, the brand has earned multiple awards & accolades for its fine wines that are widely exported to countries like the Netherlands, Japan and Denmark.
TASTING NOTES
This GSM is a blend of grapes sourced from different vineyards. While Grenache comes from the Barossa Valley region, the other two, Mourvedre and Shiraz were sourced from Seppeltsfield and Krondorf respectively. The wine was matured for one year in barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration, it flaunts a deep burgundy red hue. A nose of spiced red fruits is complemented by raspberries, wild strawberries and cherries. These fragrances make way for a medium-bodied and warm palate revealing musk stick, red fruit and orange rind flavours. Laced with sweet and chewy tannins, these characteristics are followed by a lingering finish. Enjoy it young with tomato pasta sauce or slow braised lamb ragu.
