Ashbrook Estate Margaret River Chardonnay 2024 - 12 Bottles

Winery Background

Ashbrook Estate, established in 1975, is a family-owned winery and one of the early pioneers of Margaret River’s wine industry. Known for producing premium, estate-grown wines with minimal intervention, Ashbrook focuses on expressing the purity and character of its unique vineyard sites.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 season in Margaret River was near perfect, with a warm, dry summer and cool nights preserving natural acidity. The estate’s mature Chardonnay vines, rooted in free-draining gravelly loam soils, yielded low crops of concentrated, beautifully balanced fruit.

Winemaking Process

Fruit was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed to retain delicacy and aromatic freshness. Fermentation occurred in a mix of French oak barriques and stainless steel, with a portion undergoing wild yeast fermentation. Partial malolactic fermentation added texture and complexity, followed by maturation on fine lees for 10 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw with green hues. Aromas of white peach, nectarine, and citrus blossom are complemented by subtle cashew and flinty minerality. The palate is elegant yet intense, with stone fruit and lemon curd flavours layered over creamy oak and a precise, refreshing acidity.

Food Pairing

Perfect with roast chicken, seared scallops, creamy pasta, or mild soft cheeses.

Story Behind the Wine

Ashbrook’s Chardonnay showcases the finesse of Margaret River’s cool maritime climate. The 2024 vintage captures purity of fruit, subtle oak integration, and a long, mineral-driven finish — a wine crafted for both immediate enjoyment and graceful ageing.
