Two Hands Angels Share McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023 - 12 Bottles
Winery Background
Since its establishment in 1999, Two Hands Wines has built an international reputation for crafting distinctive, regional Shiraz. The âAngelsâ Shareâ name refers to the small portion of wine that evaporates during barrel maturationâbelieved to be taken by the angelsâsymbolising the wineâs journey of refinement and transformation.
Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2023 vintage was drawn from carefully selected McLaren Vale vineyards. A mild growing season with steady ripening conditions produced Shiraz grapes of excellent balance, with concentrated flavours, plush textures, and bright natural acidity.
Winemaking Process
Small-batch fermentations allowed close attention to detail, with open-top fermenters used for gentle extraction of colour and tannin. The wine was then matured in a mix of French and American oak hogsheads and puncheons, delivering complexity while preserving the varietyâs pure fruit expression.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet in colour. The nose offers lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and black plum, complemented by notes of mocha, violet, and spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, showing layers of dark fruit, chocolate, and pepper. Fine tannins and balanced acidity lead to a long, velvety finish.
Food Pairing
A perfect companion to grilled steaks, roasted lamb, rich pasta dishes, or smoky barbecued meats. Its richness also pairs beautifully with aged cheddar or hard cheeses.
