Tellurian Wines 'Estate' Victoria Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2024 - 12 Bottles

Winery Overview

Tellurian Wines, located in the Heathcote region of Victoria, works from 23 hectares of its own vineyard and focuses on expressive wines that reflect the place. They especially favour Rhône-varieties such as Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre, and the ‘Estate’ range is all about capturing the character of their vines and their land.

Region and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage gave the vineyards within Heathcote favourable conditions for ripening—warm days and cool nights helped the grapes develop strong flavour without losing freshness and balance. The red Cambrian soils play a role in giving structure and minerality.

Source

Grapes for this wine are drawn from carefully selected parcels within the estate that have ideal exposure and soils for Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. The vineyard work concentrates on capturing varietal purity and vineyard character.

Winemaking

Each variety is handled with respect to its character. Fermentation and maturation are carried out so the blend can show vibrant fruit, soft tannins and subtle complexity. The result is a wine where structure and elegance go hand-in-hand.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright crimson with ruby edges.

Aroma: Lifted aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and plum, complemented by hints of dried herbs, black pepper and a touch of earthiness.

Palate: Medium-bodied with smooth, polished tannins and fresh acidity. The fruit is vibrant and dark, balanced by savoury spice, subtle oak and a gently rounded, lingering finish.

Finish: Long, refined and savoury, carrying the red fruit and spice through to the end.

Key Characteristics

  • Bold and expressive blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre

  • Vibrant red fruit and savoury herbal edge

  • Medium-bodied and smooth, yet structured and poised

  • A refined Heathcote-inspired red with versatility

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with chargrilled lamb chops or rosemary-spiced pork, spiced lentil and eggplant stew, duck breast with cherry glaze or cheeses such as aged Gouda or semi-soft washed-rind.
