Sticks Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 - 6 Bottles
Winery Background
Sticks Wines has become a trusted name in the Yarra Valley, known for crafting wines that are approachable, varietally expressive, and true to their cool-climate origins. With a philosophy of simplicity and authenticity, Sticks brings out the best of this renowned region.
Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2023 vintage in the Yarra Valley was marked by mild days and cool nights, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon. Slow, even ripening allowed for the development of classic varietal flavours while preserving natural acidity and fine tannin structure.
Winemaking Process
Hand-picked fruit was gently destemmed and fermented in small batches to enhance fruit purity and colour. Extended skin contact built structure and complexity, before the wine matured in seasoned French oak, striking a balance between freshness and subtle savoury influence.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby with purple edges. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and mulberry are layered with hints of bay leaf, cedar, and spice. The palate is medium-bodied yet firm, showing vibrant black fruits, silky tannins, and a long finish accented by herbal notes and fine oak.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled beef, hearty casseroles, or hard cheeses. Its structure also complements tomato-based pasta dishes and Mediterranean flavours.
