Ross Hill Pinnacle Orange, NSW Pinot Noir 2023 - 12 Bottles

Winery Background

Ross Hill Wines is a family-owned estate in Orange, New South Wales, run by the Robson family. The Pinnacle Series includes their most expressive wines from high-altitude vineyard parcels. Their Pinot Noir is a standout, capturing clarity and cool-climate elegance in every bottle.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

This Pinot Noir is sourced from the Wallace Lane vineyard at approximately 1,020 m elevation. The 2023 growing season was cool and steady, producing naturally balanced fruit with bright acidity and focused aromatics.

Winemaking Process

Fermentation included approximately 30% whole-bunch inclusion and the wine matured for nine months in French oak, around 35% of it new. Lees stirring was applied to soften tannins while maintaining lift and purity. It was bottled under screwcap to preserve freshness.

Tasting Notes

Pale to mid ruby in colour, the wine shows notes of dark cherry, rose petal, truffle and forest floor aromas leading into a silky palate of red berries, spice and earthy nuance. The fine tannins and crisp acidity deliver excellent length and structure.

Food Pairing

Ideal with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto or pâté. It also pairs well with soft cheeses and herb-infused vegetarian dishes.

Story Behind the Wine

Pinnacle Pinot Noir was made to express the purity of Orange’s high-altitude fruit. The 2023 vintage blends clarity, subtle spice and regional character in a seamless package, elegant, approachable and built for drinkability.
