Moppity Vineyards 'Twelve Signs Leo' New South Wales Rosé 2023 - 12 Bottles

Winery Background

Moppity Vineyards is family-run by Jason and Alecia Brown in the elevated Hilltops and Tumbarumba regions of New South Wales. The Twelve Signs series focuses on single-varietal wines with bright personality. Leo Rosé is made entirely from Tempranillo grown on their estate, offering a fresh and expressive style at accessible quality.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2023 Leo Rosé is sourced from Tempranillo blocks in Hilltops. This cool-climate site benefits from warm daytime temperatures and crisp nights, which help retain acidity while developing red-berry aromas and flavour clarity.

Winemaking Process

Grapes were picked early, gently pressed to control colour, and fermented in stainless steel to preserve bright aromatics and fresh fruit character. Minimal lees contact adds slight texture without softening the bite.

Tasting Notes

Strawberry pink in colour with enticing aromas of wild strawberry and melon. The palate is dry and sleek, leading with red berry flavours and a touch of citrus zest. Clean and refreshing, it finishes with crisp definition and subtle floral notes.

Food Pairing

Leo Rosé pairs beautifully with grilled salmon, poultry, herby salads or mild cheeses. Its bright fruit and acidity also pair well with Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian dishes.

Story Behind the Wine

Leo RosĂ© embodies clarity and freshness. It’s the wine that highlights the variety and the region without any fuss. Made simply and with care, it provides a straightforward expression of Tempranillo from Hilltops, perfect when you want flavourful, varietal rosĂ© without over-the-top styling.
