Moppity Vineyards is a family-run estate founded by Jason and Alecia Brown in 2002 in the cool, elevated Hilltops and Tumbarumba regions of Southern New South Wales. The ‘Lock & Key’ range offers approachable sparkling wines that represent excellent value and regional character from these sites.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

Fruit for the Lock & Key Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir is sourced from Tumbarumba and Hilltops, where cool nights and warm days yield grapes with bright acidity and concentrated flavour. The non-vintage style is crafted for consistency and freshness across releases.

Winemaking Process

The base wine undergoes controlled tank fermentation to produce fine bubbles and maintain vibrancy. After lees contact the wine is filtered, stabilised and bottled as a 200 ml piccolo sealed with a crown cap to preserve its lively nature.

Tasting Notes

A bright and enticing sparkling with lifted aromas of citrus blossom and brioche. The palate features crisp flavours of green apple and lemon zest with subtle spice and a creamy texture that balances fine natural acidity. The finish is long, lively and refreshing.
