Moppity Vineyards 'Lock & Key' New South Wales Sauvignon Blanc 2023 - 12 Bottles

Winery Background

Moppity Vineyards is a family-run winery founded by Jason and Alecia Brown in 2002, operating across the cool-climate Hilltops and Tumbarumba regions of New South Wales. The Lock & Key collection features approachable wines that offer clarity, freshness and good value.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The Lock & Key Sauvignon Blanc is made from grapes grown in Tumbarumba and Hilltops where warm days and cool nights preserve acidity and allow tropical and citrus fruit flavours to emerge. The 2023 edition continues the style of bright, consistent expression year after year.

Winemaking Process

Fruit was gently whole-cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel to capture freshness. The wine remained on lees for a short period before being filtered, stabilised and bottled under screwcap. This ensures the result is vibrant and true to varietal style.

Tasting Notes

Expect intense aromas of passionfruit, gooseberry and tropical fruits followed by flavours of lime, green apple and subtle kiwi character. The palate is crisp and textured with clean acidity and a lively, refreshing finish.

Food Pairing

Perfect with seafood like oysters or prawns, light salads, fresh goat cheese or cheddar. Its bright structure also suits dishes with citrus or herbal accents.

Story Behind the Wine

Lock & Key Sauvignon Blanc reflects Moppity’s aim to offer varietal purity and consistency in a user-friendly format. The 2023 release continues the brand’s reputation for delivering honest, expressive wines across the range.
