Mojo Winemakers McLaren Vale Shiraz 2024 - 6 Bottles

Winery Background

Mojo Winemakers is known for crafting vibrant, modern wines that reflect the unique personality of South Australia’s top wine regions. Their philosophy is about keeping winemaking approachable, expressive, and true to its origins, with the McLaren Vale Shiraz being a bold showcase of the region’s renowned red wine style.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2022 vintage in McLaren Vale experienced a mild growing season with well-timed rainfall and warm, dry days leading into harvest. This allowed for slow, even ripening and excellent flavour development, producing Shiraz grapes with rich colour, ripe tannins, and intense varietal character.

Winemaking Process

Fruit was harvested at optimal ripeness, destemmed, and fermented in small batches to maintain concentrated flavour. Extended skin contact enhanced colour and structure, followed by gentle pressing. The wine matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels to add complexity and soften the tannins.

Tasting Notes

Deep crimson red. Aromas of ripe blackberries, dark plums, and hints of mocha and spice. The palate is plush and full-bodied, with layers of dark fruit, chocolate, and peppery spice, supported by velvety tannins and a lingering, savoury finish.

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with chargrilled steaks, roast lamb, or rich mushroom dishes.

Story Behind the Wine

This Shiraz embodies the spirited style of Mojo Winemakers—bold, flavourful, and made for sharing. It’s a modern take on McLaren Vale’s classic Shiraz heritage, offering generosity and approachability in every glass.
