McLaren Vale Mystery Cabernet Blend 2022

This Cabernet-based blend is inspired by the great cuvées of Bordeaux, showcasing the art of blending with McLaren Vale character. Crafted from four classic varietals, it balances fragrance, structure, and generosity to deliver a wine that is both regionally expressive and elegantly composed.

Region & Vintage Conditions

The 2022 vintage in McLaren Vale was excellent, with warm, dry days and cool nights providing ideal ripening conditions. Harvest took place between late February and mid-March, allowing each varietal to be picked at optimum maturity, preserving both vibrancy and concentration.

Winemaking

The final composition includes Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (32%), Cabernet Franc (9%), and Petit Verdot (9%). Each variety was fermented and matured separately before blending. Cabernet Sauvignon spent time in seasoned French oak to enhance structure, Merlot in two-year-old French oak for softness, and the supporting varietals in older oak to preserve freshness and lift. The result is a seamless union of depth, fragrance, and refined tannins.
