Lambrook Plant Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2023 - 6 Bottles

Winery Background

Lambrook Wines is a boutique winery located in the cool-climate region of the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The estate focuses on producing premium wines that express the unique terroir of the region. The Plant range represents the winery's commitment to crafting wines that showcase the purity and elegance of the Adelaide Hills.

Vineyard and Vintage Conditions

The 2023 Plant Pinot Noir is sourced from select vineyards in the Piccadilly Valley and Lenswood subregions of the Adelaide Hills, known for their cool climate and high altitude. The cool growing season of 2023 allowed for slow ripening, preserving the natural acidity and delicate flavours of the Pinot Noir grapes. The wine is produced in limited quantities, with only 500 dozen bottles made.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-picked and cold soaked for 24 hours to enhance colour extraction and aromatic intensity. Fermentation occurred in small open-top fermenters with hand plunging, and 20% whole bunch fruit was included to add complexity. The wine was then pressed and matured for 9 months in French oak barriques, 30% of which were new, to impart subtle oak nuances and contribute to the wine's structure.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Bright cherry red with a youthful hue.

  • Aroma: Lifted floral notes with sweet cherries and spicy cloves.

  • Palate: Medium-bodied with a lively kick, showcasing sweet cherry and clove flavours.

  • Finish: Delicate and full-flavoured, with a clean and refreshing finish.

Food Pairing

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes such as roast duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom risotto. Its bright acidity and vibrant flavours make it a versatile companion to a variety of cuisines.
