Henschke Peggy's Hill Eden Valley Riesling 2025 - 6 Bottles

Winery Background

Henschke, founded in 1868, is one of Australia’s most respected family-owned wineries, renowned for its heritage and commitment to quality. Peggy’s Hill Riesling is sourced from the Eden Valley, a cool-climate subregion of the Barossa, where Riesling thrives and produces wines of purity, vibrancy, and age-worthy elegance.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage in Eden Valley was marked by a mild growing season with cool nights, perfect for slow ripening and excellent flavour development. Fruit was sourced from high-altitude vineyards (up to 500m above sea level), giving the wine its hallmark intensity, delicate aromatics, and natural acidity.

Winemaking Process

Grapes were hand- and machine-harvested in pristine condition. They were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatics and freshness. The wine was bottled early under screwcap to capture vibrancy and longevity.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant pale straw with green tinges. Bursting aromas of lime zest, citrus blossom, kaffir lime leaf, and mineral nuances. The palate is crisp, dry, and finely structured, showing flavours of lime, green apple, and hints of talc with vibrant acidity leading to a long, pure, and refreshing finish.

Food Pairing

Perfect with freshly shucked oysters, Thai seafood salad, grilled prawns, or lightly spiced Asian dishes. Its clean acidity also makes it a refreshing partner for goat’s cheese or herb-infused vegetarian plates.

Story Behind the Wine

Peggy’s Hill is named after a local landmark overlooking the Henschke vineyards. This Riesling captures the true expression of Eden Valley’s high-altitude terroir—elegant, precise, and built to enjoy now or cellar for up to 10+ years.
