De Bortoli Lusatia Park Wines Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2018 - 6 Bottles
Winery Background
Established in 1928, De Bortoli is a family-owned winery renowned for its premium cool-climate wines from Yarra Valley. The Lusatia Park vineyard is one of their flagship sites, known for producing elegant, single-vineyard wines with distinctive regional character.
Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The Lusatia Park vineyard in Woori Yallock sits at a high altitude in the upper Yarra Valley, offering ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. The 2018 vintage enjoyed a warm, dry season, resulting in perfectly ripe fruit with concentration, balance, and excellent natural acidity.
Winemaking Process
Hand-picked fruit was fermented in small open fermenters, with a portion of whole bunches to add lift and complexity. Gentle plunging was used for colour and tannin extraction. The wine was then matured in French oak barrels (some new) to enhance structure and finesse.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red in colour. Aromas of red cherry, strawberry, violet and subtle spice. The palate is silky and finely textured, delivering layers of red fruits, earthiness and delicate savoury notes, supported by fine tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing
Ideal with roast duck, mushroom risotto, herb-roasted poultry or charcuterie. Also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses and light game dishes.
Story Behind the Wine
The Lusatia Park Pinot Noir 2018 captures the essence of this exceptional vineyard—pure fruit expression, aromatic lift, and graceful complexity—making it a wine of both immediate appeal and cellaring potential.
