De Bortoli Lusatia Park Wines Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2019 - 6 Bottles
Winery Background
De Bortoli, established in 1928, is a family-owned winery with a strong reputation for premium cool-climate wines from Yarra Valley. Lusatia Park is one of their flagship single-vineyard sites, known for producing elegant, finely structured wines of exceptional quality.
Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The Lusatia Park vineyard, located in Woori Yallock in the upper Yarra Valley, is a cool, high-altitude site ideal for Chardonnay. The 2019 vintage was warm and dry, yielding small crops of intensely flavoured fruit with excellent natural acidity and purity.
Winemaking Process
Hand-picked fruit is whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barrels (a portion new) using wild yeast. The wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation and lees stirring to build texture and complexity, followed by maturation in oak for finesse and balance.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw in colour. Aromas of white peach, citrus zest, flint and subtle nutty oak. The palate is precise and elegant, showing layers of stone fruit, grapefruit and hints of nougat, supported by fine acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with roast chicken, seared scallops, creamy risotto, or grilled white fish. Also complements dishes with light buttery sauces or mild cheeses.
Story Behind the Wine
Lusatia Park Chardonnay reflects the unique character of one of Yarra Valley’s finest vineyards. It combines purity of fruit, subtle oak influence and minerality, resulting in a sophisticated Chardonnay with depth, balance and longevity.
