Fowles Wines is a family-run estate in the Strathbogie Ranges of Victoria. The “Are You Game?” range brings bold, food-friendly wines inspired by local wild-food traditions and crafted with a playful spirit.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2021 Shiraz was harvested in April from high-altitude, cool-climate vineyards. Such conditions preserved bright fruit flavours while nurturing balanced ripeness and clarity. 

Winemaking Process

Fruit was fermented using a mix of wild and cultured yeasts. The wine matured for 12–18 months in both new French and American oak, contributing vanillin complexity. A dash of Cabernet Sauvignon was added to enhance black cherry perfume and structure. 

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby-red in the glass. The nose is rich with ripe dark plum, floral lavender and sweet cherries lifted by integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, featuring dark berries, cool-climate spice, fine dusty tannins and a blackcurrant finish. 

Food Pairing

Pairs seamlessly with grilled lamb, venison, roast pork or peppered beef. Its structure and ripe fruit profile also make it a great match for hearty vegetarian dishes or barbeque fare.
