Crimson Monster McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023 - 6 Bottles
Winery Background
Crimson Monster celebrates the bold, powerful side of Australian reds, sourcing fruit from premium regions to create wines with intensity, generosity, and drinkability. Each release captures the essence of its region, showcasing varietal purity with a touch of modern winemaking flair.
Region & Vintage
McLaren Vale is one of Australia’s most renowned regions for Shiraz, producing wines of richness, vibrancy, and depth. The 2023 vintage brought a cooler growing season with extended ripening, resulting in excellent flavour concentration, balanced acidity, and silky tannin development.
Winemaking Process
The Shiraz was picked from select vineyard blocks in McLaren Vale, fermented on skins for maximum colour and flavour extraction, and matured in a mix of French and American oak. This careful balance allowed the fruit’s dark berry core to shine while layering in spice and subtle oak complexity.
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson with purple edges. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and dark cherry intertwine with hints of black pepper, vanilla, and mocha. The palate is plush and full-bodied, bursting with ripe black fruits, licorice, and a touch of spice. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while the finish is long, smooth, and satisfying.
Food Pairing
An excellent companion for grilled ribeye, slow-braised lamb shanks, barbecued meats, or hard cheeses like aged cheddar.
