Coppabella Wines Sirius New South Wales Chardonnay 2021 - 6 Bottles

Winery Background

Coppabella Vineyard is a family-run estate in Tumbarumba, NSW, managed by Jason and Alecia Brown. The estate includes the “Sirius” label, which uses only fruit from the vineyard’s best blocks and represents their flagship Chardonnay offering.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

Made from fruit picked in cool, elevated blocks around 600 m elevation, the 2021 vintage benefited from ideal Tumbarumba conditions, cold nights, steady ripening and vibrant acidity that allowed bright fruit to shine without loss of balance.

Winemaking Process

Grapes undergo whole-bunch pressing straight to barrel. Fermentation and around 30% of the wine in new French oak adds subtle oak complexity. Lees are kept with the free run juice to build texture, then the wine matures in oak before bottling under screwcap to maintain freshness..

Tasting Notes

Pale straw with green flecks. Aromas of green apple, stone fruit, cashew nuts and lemony brightness. The palate is built around high natural acidity with layers of citrus, grilled peach, nougat and gentle oak spice, finishing long and texturally rich.

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with creamy seafood dishes, roast chicken, pork belly or buttery mushroom risottos. Its acidity and savoury fruit profile also match with soft cheeses or lightly seasoned vegetables.

Story Behind the Wine

The “Sirius” Chardonnay is Coppabella’s stage setting for what Tumbarumba can deliver at its finest. With vineyard-sourced intensity, balanced oak and lifted acidity, the 2021 vintage is refined yet generous, elegant yet approachable, a genuine regional flagship.
