Audrey Wilkinson Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2024 - 6 Bottles
Winery Background
Established in 1866, Audrey Wilkinson is one of the Hunter Valley’s most celebrated wineries, known for producing elegant, terroir-driven wines. Its hillside vineyards, with sweeping views over the valley, benefit from cooling afternoon breezes, creating ideal conditions for premium Chardonnay.
Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2024 growing season in the Hunter Valley was mild and dry during ripening, with cool evenings that helped preserve natural acidity. Well-drained sandy loam and volcanic soils contributed to excellent fruit concentration and balanced flavour development.
Winemaking Process
Hand-picked grapes were whole-bunch pressed to preserve delicacy. Fermentation took place in a mix of French oak barriques (both new and seasoned) and stainless steel to balance richness and freshness. The wine was matured on lees for six months, with gentle stirring to enhance texture and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Pale golden straw. Aromas of white peach, nectarine, citrus blossom and subtle toasted hazelnut from oak. The palate is elegant yet creamy, with stone fruit and citrus flavours layered over fine acidity and a long, harmonious finish.
Food Pairing
Ideal with roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, or grilled scallops with lemon butter.
Story Behind the Wine
This Chardonnay reflects Audrey Wilkinson’s commitment to crafting wines that speak of place. The 2024 vintage captures the Hunter Valley’s hallmark elegance—fresh, balanced and beautifully textured.
